Mary Louise Moore

Mary Louise Moore (Mary Lou), of Puyallup, WA passed away on December 27, 2021 after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Everett and raised for most of her life in Seattle, she graduated from West Seattle High School in 1961. She attended Western Washington University, where she met and fell in love with her future husband, Gary Moore. They married in August, 1963 and Mary Lou finished her college years at the University of Washington, where she earned her degree in elementary education. They settled in Issaquah, where they both taught in the district until their retirements. In 2001, they moved to Puyallup and in retirement enjoyed traveling, golf, spending time with friends and family together until Gary’s passing in 2008.
Mary Lou never met a stranger! She could make anyone feel comfortable in her presence. She was kind, patient and loved her family and friends completely.  She traveled with friends, golfed and enjoyed wine parties with neighbors and often joked that she was ‘too busy.’ She was an amazing mom and grandma who spent hours making a special bunny cake for the grandkids each Easter! She loved to simply spend time with her family, whether that was enjoying a home cooked meal or playing a game of Uno.
She was a long time member of Rainier View Christian Church, where she was part of a small group who was very special to her.
Family was the foundation of Mary Lou’s life. Her daughter Trish, son Chris, son-in-law Stacy, daughter-in-law Alicia and grandchildren Tanner, Conner, Corbin and Molly will miss her immensely.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Wesley Holmes Lea Hill for the care and comfort they provided Mary Lou the past few months.
A celebration of life for Mary Lou will be held in the future when all the grandchildren can attend. We will announce plans as soon as they are determined..
