Zoey Chase-Billing, born December 30, 1950, in Puyallup. She passed away peacefully at home September 14, 2023. In the days leading up to her passing, Zoey was surrounded by many of her family and friends. Zoey graduated from Puyallup High school. It was there, she formed so many lifelong friends, who she called her sisters. Her sisters were always there for her during her illness.
Zoey was a buyer/planner. She spent most of her career working with The Bon Marche / Macys in the downtown Seattle offices. She held many buying/planning positions, and traveled frequently for work. She liked to say she knew Manhattan better than Seattle. She later worked for Tri North Dept. Stores, and Toy Smith Inc.
It was on one of her buying trips that she met her husband John 32 years ago. Sitting next to him during a 4-hour plane ride home.
Zoey’s many passions. Hosting family parties on the holidays. Caring for her grandson, and keeping him fashionably dressed.
She loved to travel and planning the details of the trips. Spending days just to find a special home to rent, or restaurant to eat at. She also loved her golf outings, and home cooking.
Zoey is survived by her husband John Billing, son Travis Chase, grandson Easton Chase. Brother Harold (Bo) Kurle (Allie), Sister Kareen Shanks (Ron), brother Jeff Kurle (Maureen).
Zoey is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Alyce Kurle, and her brother David Kurle (Bonnie).
Celebration of Zoey’s life will be at Powers Funeral Home in Puyallup on November 3rd at 11:00 AM.
