The Deen-Conteh Family regret to announce the death of Victoria Agatha Nay Doe-Smith (Nee Blackstock-Johns). Her death occurred in Washington State on December 15, 2021 after a battle with a brief illness. Victoria was born on November 24, 1934, to Mary Nyafor Waltee and George Blackstock-Johns of Freetown, Sierra Leone. Mommy, Nay, or VJ, as she was commonly known, attended Kroo Primary School (KPS) and the Saint Joseph Convent Secondary School of Freetown, Sierra Leone. She was a member of Saint Vincent DePaul of the Saint Anthony Church and a member of the Kroo Progressive Society.
Victoria married Claudius Doe-Smith Esq. They were blessed with many children including Joshua B. Doe-Smith, Claudius Doe-Smith Jr., Claudia Deen-Conteh (Nee Doe-Smith), Archie Tucker, Sally Luke (Nee Tucker), Samuel Tucker, and Milton Tucker. Victoria is survived by 22 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Gracie Johns (GBA) and many nieces and nephews.
Victoria was a naturalized citizen of the United States (US). In the US, she lived most of her life in Washington State with her daughter and son-in-law, Dr. Foday & Mrs. Claudia Deen-Conteh. Victoria was a member of the Sierra Leone Pacific Northwest Community Association (SLPNWCA) of the United States. Victoria was a devout catholic and was a member of Holy Disciples Catholic Church in Puyallup Washington.
Other relatives include the Thorpe, Clement, Barnhill, Tsifo, Freeman, Johnson, Robinson, Brown, Thamin, Swarray, Dartey, Blanshard, and Lewis Families. Surviving close friends are Juliet, Josephine Kargbo, Blapoh, and Ajua.
