Victoria Ann Borovich

April 25, 1942 — August 19, 2023

Vicki Borovich, 81, a lifelong resident of Washington state, peacefully passed away on August 19, 2023 in Puyallup. Vicki was born on April 25, 1942 in Tacoma, the daughter of Angelo and Anna Falaschi. She was a Firwood farm girl growing up in Fife with her siblings Margaret (Bill) Mohler (deceased), Loretta (Roger) Croft (both deceased), Norita (Guy-deceased) Johnson, Christine (Wolfgang) Fillinger, Lenore (Bill-deceased) Willis, Joe (Marge) Falaschi and Karl (Fern) Falaschi. Vicki graduated from Fife High School then completed Beauty School and began working as a hairdresser. Soon after she met and married the love of her life and best friend, Fred Borovich Jr on November 30th, 1963 at Fife’s St Martin of Tours Church.

The young couple moved to a farm house and 5 acres in the Puyallup valley where they enjoyed remodeling the house and buildings. They built a beauty shop off the back of the house and opened Vicky’s Beauty Salon, where she ran the business for more than 25 years. They started a family and Vicki was a loving mother to her four children: daughters, Shelly (Derek) Kane and Dana (Greg) Allen, and two sons, Fred III (Amy) and Michael Borovich. Grandmother of 11 grandchildren: Sarah (Kyle), Salena, Kilynn, RaeAnn, Jacqueline, Erica, Fred IV, Kent, Alexandra, Jocelyn and Arianna, and great grandmother to Paxton and Zayden. Vicki loved family gatherings, decorating for and celebrating every holiday and attending sporting and other events of her children and grandchildren. Vicki loved to garden. She planted colorful landscapes full of flowers, tended exotic houseplants and planted a huge vegetable garden every year. She always grew a large patch of squash and pumpkins. So many pumpkins that the family sold them from the front yard of the farm house each October.

Vicki was very creative, loved to decorate for any occasion and enjoyed crafts. She painted faces on the pumpkins she grew. At first just for friends but they were so popular she began to sell them making some ‘fun money’ as she called it. Vicki was active and athletic, a talented bowler, with several 200 games. She played on many teams at Daffodil Bowl over the years, and competed in bowling tournaments around the US. She played pickle ball weekly and brought many of her grandchildren along to learn the game. Vicki played Bunco for many years enjoying the time with friends and shopping for prizes and decorating when she was the host. She worked at the Puyallup Fair and for the Tall Ships when they came to town. Vicki loved to travel and enjoyed going on cruises, trips to Reno and various casinos, and traveling around Europe with her siblings, friends and Fred. She and Fred joined the Puyallup Daffodilians and spent many years helping create and decorate the Daffodil floats, walked in the parades and participated in the Daffodil Princess selection ceremonies. She was part of the decoration committee and Daffodilian Co-President in 2007.

Vicki was preceded in death by her beloved husband Fred Jr, in August of 2022.
