Steven Melvin Simmons

Steven Melvin Simmons, son of Karen (James) Martin and Donald (Cindy) Simmons was born December 12, 1964 in Puyallup, Washington. He graduated from Puyallup High School in 1984. Steve was a sports enthusiast. He participated in swim team, football, baseball, and wrestling while growing up in Puyallup. As an adult, Steve spent many years working in the window business, eventually owning his own window installation company. Steve later earned his real estate license and worked for Lowe's in Renton. No matter the occupation, Steve was happiest helping and caring for people. He was known best for his unrestrained, outgoing personality. Steve married Michele Simon in 2006 and became step-father to Brandon and Devon Simon of Renton, Washington. Though he and Michele parted in 2018, Steve continued to be devoted to his step-sons. Steve departed this life on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Valley Hospital in Renton, Washington, at age 54. His fun-loving nature and big heart will forever be remembered by all who knew him. Steve will continue to be cherished in the memories of his family members: siblings; Kimberly Simmons, Carol (Larry) Crivello, Douglas (Colleen) Martin, Deanna Bastron, Leslie Simmons; Aunt Gayle (Mel) Chang; a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at Linden Golf and Country Club at 2519 East Main Avenue, Puyallup, Washington on Saturday, June 1, 2019 from 1;00 pm - 4:00pm. Arrangements by Powers Funeral Home.
