Steven Robert Arneberg

Steven Robert Arneberg was born June 22, 1958 in Tacoma Washington to Robert and Elaine Arneberg. He graduated from Rogers high school in 1976. He passed away at home at the age of 66 from an aggressive brain cancer. Steve began his longshoreman career in 1976 at the port of Tacoma, following in the footsteps of his grandfather’s Carl Arneberg and Chester Barker. He worked his way up the ranks to become one of the top veteran crane drivers, transferring to local 98 from local 23 in 2012.  Eventually he retired after 47 years on the waterfront in December 2023 Steve enjoyed being with his family and friends and his favorite past times were fishing, camping, hiking, golfing, collecting rocks, traveling, and he loved the Seahawks, Mariners, sounders and Kraken. 

He is survived by his loving wife Karen; father Robert; children Jennifer and Kraig (Alex) and his dogs Bronx, Ellie, and Karma; sisters Kathy, Cheryl (Jim); brothers Danny (Carol) Kevin (Carey); and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins and lots of friends he adored. He was so loved by so many people!  He was preceded in death by his mother Elaine.  A special thanks to Jennifer Wilson, Jodi Johns, Tony Fohn, Kevin Arneberg, Larry and Laurie Dally, Erin Walton, Anna & Ali Williams for helping with the 24 hour caregiving.
