Stanley Haskey

January 20, 1934 — July 10, 2018

Stanley Haskey was born in Aberdeen, Washington on January 20, 1934 to John and Anna Haskey and passed away at Kings Manor in Tacoma, Washington on July 10, 2018. He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Doris; two sons Mark and Steve; daughter-in-law Peggy. Stanley also leaves behind five grandchildren; Morgan, Jodi, Elizabeth, Chelsey, and Malachi. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dorothy Hellman; and brother; Jack Haskey. Stanley attended Weatherwax High School in Aberdeen and soon after joined the Navy. Shortly after his military service he married the love of his life, Doris Nepsund, on August 16, 1958. After graduating from PLU with a degree in biology, Stanley and Doris moved to Puyallup, Washington to begin raising their family. Stanley was an agronomist for WSU Extension Center in Puyallup and then became a real estate appraiser for the final 15 years of his career. During their marriage, they enjoyed spending time with their family and watching countless Mariners games. Stanley was deeply involved with his church, Lutheran Church of Christ the King, for 50 years. His biggest calling was the leading, planning, and successful development of Kings Manors and was a big reason for the success it has today. A service will be held at Lutheran Church of Christ the King in Tacoma, WA on Thursday, July 26, 2018, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests any donations be made to the Lutheran Church of Christ the King Memorial Fund, 1710 85th St E, Tacoma, WA 98445.
