Shirley Couture

Shirley Couture (Beaman) of Tacoma passed on December 5th, 2018 at the age of 82 years. Shirley was born in Savage, Montana to James and Mary Beaman. She was one of 7 children and is survived by her sister Joy Batter. She grew up in the Tacoma area and then moved to Graham. She graduated from Bethel High School in 1954. She soon married James Couture and had five children, Frank Couture (Vicky), Victoria Couture, Roxanne Sahli (Lon), Rocky Couture, Jim Couture. Shirley loved to travel, bake, dance, play cards and garden. She especially loved her roses. She also loved going to her son Rocky's river property in Montesano. She felt at peace being near water of any kind. She lived many years on Clear lake in Eatonville. Shirley also worked as a health club manager and moved on to become a secretary for the Ironworkers Local #114 for 20 years and retired at the age of 62. Since her retirement she has had many travels. She was especially fond of going to the beach in Texas with her family from the area. Shirley has 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews. She will be missed. Arrangements by Powers Funeral Home.
