Sherman Lloyd Squires, age 89, of Puyallup, WA, peacefully passed early on December 10, 2020. Sherman was born in Sumner, WA, on December 26, 1930, and graduated from Puyallup High School in 1948. He grew up and lived in the Puyallup Riverside Community. His wonderful life was fulfilled with family, friends and the Puyallup First Christian Church. During the early 1950’s, Sherman joined the Coast Guard and served for 3-years on a cutter, where he traveled to Japan as well as other destinations while being stationed in Florida and Alaska. He was known for the delicious blueberries that he grew on a farm that he bought next to his childhood home where he resided for most of his life. Sherman was a man of faith with a hard work ethic that boosted his farming ability as well as his years working for the Atlas Foundry and Empire Painting. Along with all the hard work, he had a great love for hiking around Mt. Rainier, fishing, hunting, camping, Seahawks’ games, the Mariner’s (even during a losing year) and traveling. His most joyful travels were the road trips with his family all over the United States and Canada, as well as the international cruises to many different ports. Sherman’s wit and dry sense of humor was admired by all and he used this to express his complete love for his family. Sherman is survived by his wife of 65-years, Eunice Charlyne, his three children; Sandi, Ken (Elise), and Sue (Todd), five grandchildren; Lisa (Alex), Kalynn (Brian), Lindsey, Jake, and Brandon, and four and a half great-grandchildren; Lucas, Addilyn, Jaxon, Harlyn and a baby boy due in April. A celebration of Sherman’s life will be scheduled for summer 2021. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Puyallup First Christian Church.
