Sachi Kudo Smith

Sachi Kudo Smith was born on January 5, 1925, and raised in Beppu, Japan. In her young adulthood she met Paul Smith, who was stationed in Japan during the Korean War. The two were married in 1953 and thus began her new life in Seattle, Washington. Sachi and Paul were blessed with two wonderful children, a son Leo in 1954 and a second son Bill in 1955. Eventually, in addition to being a loving wife and mother, Sachi became a US citizen. She passed away on November 29, 2024 and was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Smith, and her son, Leo Smith.  

Sachi is survived by her son Bill Smith; grandchildren Ben Smith, Brin Smith, Carrie Lampers, Pamela Dorn, and Kevin Smith; as well as great grandchildren Jenny Smith, Jacob Smith, Rosalind Smith, Joshua Lampers, Zoey Lampers, Conrad Dorn, Carson Dorn, Charles Smith, and Josephine Smith.

She will be forever loved.
