Our beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, Ronald Eugene Carpenter passed away after extended illnesses surrounded by family in Puyallup, WA on April 17th, 2024, at age 79. He was born in Auburn, WA on November 4th, 1944, to Earl and Clara Carpenter. Ron had a diverse career in many fields including a chef, truck parts sales, carpet installer, carpenter and his favorite, airplane parts assembler. His hobbies and loves included hunting, fishing, camping, and collecting model trains but he was at his happiest surrounded by his family. Always on the lookout for the unusual, ridiculous, and crazy, he loved hunting for treasures at garage and yard sales with his wife of 38 years, Barbara. Being a grandpa was a special joy for Ron. He loved having the grandkids come spend the night, often driving them through the park in his 1959 Mercedes sedan. Ron is well known for his sense of humor, often telling somewhat questionable jokes to the family at every gathering. Long Beach, WA held a special place in his heart as his happy place and as per his wishes this is where his ashes along with his beloved dog Sadie’s ashes, will be spread by his immediate family on a future date.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Earl Carpenter and Clara Cavanaugh, and his brothers, Dennis Carpenter, and Mike Carpenter. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Barbara, his siblings: Paul (Nan), Tom (Teri), Tami, and David, his children: Shawn, Veronica (Emily), Bill, Sarah (Jeff) and Marina, his grandchildren: Robyn (Jackson), Alexandria, Symone, Adriana, and Caden and his great grandchildren: Gunnar, Lincoln, and Mazie. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and a large extended family. We love you Papa and will see you again someday.
Memorial services will be held 05/19/2024 2-5 pm at the Dacca Barn in Fife at 2820 54th Avenue E., Fife, WA 98424.
