Rick B Stanaway passed away on February 28, 2019 at the age of 62. He was born on July 17, 1956 to Thomas & Jen Stanaway in Tacoma, WA. During his childhood there were several stories of their pet raccoon Doris, the road trip to Disneyland and them sending time at OHOP Lake building the cabin. Rick met the love of his life, Lori at OHOP Lake in the summer of 73 at his Uncle Jerry's cabin. They were young, but in love and on June 19, 1975 they were married. Rick joined the Army and severed from 1975 to 1981. On April 3rd of 1979 they welcomed their son into the world. It was one of the proudest moments of his life. He was so proud of you Travis for the man and father you have become. He would always say well, we did something right. I could not have asked for a better son. We joined the ABATE of Tacoma motorcycle club for years, meeting several lifelong Friends. He enjoyed building and restoring classic cars and the "guy time" at John's garage on Saturday's. He also enjoyed going to car shows together with family and friends. We are blessed with two amazing grandchildren, Madelyn and Tanner. Madelyn will always be Papa's babygirl. He was so proud of all her talents; catcher on a fast pitch team, art drawing's, your kindness & love that you showed your Papa everyday. Tanner you will always be Papa's boy. He was so proud of how great you are in all your sports; football, baseball & soccer, you are an amazing athlete and fearless little boy which worried him. We made many memories at OHOP lake from our teenage years together to just last summer with our kids, grandkids and friends. He leaves behind his loving wife Lori Stanaway, son Travis Stanaway, Daughter in law Jessica, two grandchildren Madelyn and Tanner. His brothers; Tom (Patsy) Stanaway, Dan (Cindy) Stanaway, his sister Diana (Stan) Rowden. A large loving extended family and many unforgettable friends. I would like to thank all of you for being a part of my husband's life. Although he didn't say it often he loved you all. Rick, you will never be forgotten and will always be in our hearts. I love you Honey - Rest in Peace, your wife forever Arrangements by Powers Funeral Home.
