Richard Emmet Mitchell, born June 30th, 1939, in Los Angeles, California, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on December 30th, 2021.
We are deeply saddened by the loss of this special man and extremely thankful for the many years of love and kindness he shared will all of us. We will cherish those times forever.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother Emmet and Ruth Mitchell, and his first wife Colleen Mitchell.
Richard is survived by his loving and devoted wife Cynthia Mitchell, and her children R.J. Cleland, his children Austin, Coltin, and Dawsin, Robert Cleland, Cari and Kelly Christensen, and their children Grace and Luke.
Richard is also survived by his children, David Mitchell, RuthAnn Coty, Richard Mitchell, Chuck Mitchell and granddaughter Kelsey and great granddaughter Morgan.
He retired from Weyerhaeuser as the Building Superintendent after many years of exemplary service.
Richard and Cynthia were lucky enough to begin their journey together over 24 years ago. They were blessed from the beginning and inseparable as a couple. They created a beautiful life together filled with family, travel, life, and love.
He was always a hard worker, who never hesitated to lend a hand or help anyone in need. He was a brilliant engineer who could build or fix anything. He also took great pride in restoring many vintage vehicles.
