Paul L. Oskamp

Paul L. Oskamp, husband of Charlene Oskamp died peacefully on February 7th, in his home in Edgewood, Washington, at the age of 69. Born May 20th, 1949 in Bellflower, California, he was the son of the late Stanley G. and Elizabeth A. Oskamp of Westport, Washington. Paul is survived by his wife Charlene of Edgewood, Washington, along with their four children and six grandchildren. His children are Gregory of Edgewood, Washington; Jeffrey of Towson, Maryland; Thomas of Houston, Texas; and Karen of Puyallup, Washington. He is also survived by his two brothers, Stanley G. Jr. (Jerry) of Woodinville, Washington and David of Kirkland, Washington. Mr. Oskamp served for three and a half years in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, stationed in Germany. After his service, he graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelor's degree in computer science. He married Charlene, a classmate, and also a computer science graduate. Together they settled in Edgewood, Washington. He worked for the Boeing Company for 33 years, maintaining and improving their computer systems. He was a cheerful man and will be remembered by his family and friends for his sense of humor and the care he showed for others. Along with Charlene, he was an active member in his church, where he has dedicated countless hours maintaining and operating the sound system. Over the years, he has had many hobbies and interests, including: hunting with friends and his sons and daughter, barbecuing meat in his smoker, camping with his family, building model railroads with his sons, making dollhouse furniture with his daughter, and participating as staff in the Alcan 5000 road rally. His ashes will be interred at the National Cemetery in Kent, Washington. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 23rd at Bonney Lake Community Church in Bonney Lake, Washington. All are welcome to attend the memorial service.
