On the evening of February 16th, Tillie passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family. She lived a remarkable 90 year-long life. Tillie worked as an inspector for Boeing and retired after 25 years of hard work. During her years of retirement, she loved to travel, some of her favorite places being Portugal, Hawaii, or back home to California, where she spent time with her brothers, sister, and extended family. Throughout the years, she found a passion for dancing, meeting her future husband Bill at a dance for single parents. Tillie was very involved in charity work, extending her help to Hispanic mothers in need and their children, using her skills in Spanish to communicate with them. She was a member of the Eagles, serving as chaplain over the years, as well as an English-Spanish interpreter for Sumner High School.
Tillie will be laid to rest next to her predeceased husband, William “Bill” Darrow, who she was married to for a loving 26 years, as well as her Grandson, Mikey Knox. She is survived by her three children, Jim, Cindi, Liv, and Stepson Rob, as well as their spouses, Barb, James, and Gary. Her memory lives on in her 9 grandchildren, her 7 great grandchildren, and her 4 great-great grandchildren.
Mama dances again in Heaven, and is laid to rest surrounded by love.
Her funeral will be held at Powers Funeral Home February 29th at 10:00 AM. Afterward, there will be a celebration of life at The Eagles Club in Puyallup.
