Opal “Janette” Rogers, a Beacon of Light and Inspiration
Janette Rogers, a beloved 90-year-old, passed away on November 11, 2023, leaving behind a legacy that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. Born on September 15, 1933, Janette lived a life characterized by compassion, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As she journeyed through life, Janette touched the lives of countless individuals, leaving an indelible mark through her remarkable kindness, practical wisdom, and boundless generosity.
A true pillar of her community, Janette dedicated her professional life to Tacoma General Hospital, where she excelled and inspired others with her unparalleled skill and dedication, retiring after 30 years. Beyond her professional achievements, Janette was a devoted mother to six children, Deborah Friesen (Eldon) Jack Rogers (Denise), William Rogers (Dorothy), Jason Rogers (Tammy), Elizabeth McMinn (Doyle), and Matthew Rogers. Janette was a grandmother of 16 and great grandmother of 19. Janette was a loved family member, friend, and mentor, always offering a listening ear and sage advice. She was a source of strength during challenging times and a source of joy during moments of celebration, making her presence truly irreplaceable.
As we bid farewell to Janette, let us remember her not with sorrow, but with gratitude for the profound impact she had on our lives. Janette‘s spirit will live on in the memories we shared, the lessons she imparted, and the countless lives she touched and helped to create. A memorial service open to all family and friends for Janette will be held 3:00 PM Monday November 20, 2023, at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 8415 Maple Street SW, Lakewood, WA (Tillicum) 98498
