Nancy Jane Fischer

Nancy Jane Fischer, 87, passed away on January 9, 2024, in Puyallup, WA. Born on September 10, 1936, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was the beloved wife of the late Daniel Moon Fischer.

Nancy lived a full and wonderful life.  In her youth, she moved a lot as her father, Richard Kapsch was a medic in the Navy.  She graduated from high school at Oak Harbor, High School in Washington State.  She met the love of her life in Long Beach, CA. and married Daniel Moon Fischer on 12/23/1955.  Nancy was an actual beauty queen, winning “Miss Long Beach” at age 18.

Nancy had a remarkable career in the art world, making a lasting impact on the community as the Director of the Bellevue Art Museum and Panaca Art Gallery. She spent many years coordinating the Bellevue Arts and Crafts Fair and formed many very strong and meaningful friendships along the way.

Beyond her professional achievements, Nancy took pleasure in various hobbies, such as creating beautiful beaded jewelry and being an avid bridge player. She was also a dedicated sports fan, passionately supporting the Mariners and Seahawks.

Survived by daughter Dana Holzberger, son-in-law, Bob Holzberger, daughter Karen Fischer, son-in-law, Matt Caldwell, and grandsons, Rollen Bailey and Tony Benson.

The memory of Nancy Jane Fischer will forever be treasured by those who knew and loved her. Her significant contributions to the art community and unwavering devotion to her friends and family leave an indelible mark on their lives. May she rest in peace.
