Morgan Jerome Olson was born on July 18, 1935 in Park River, North Dakota. He passed away peacefully on March 3, 2025 at age 89 in Puyallup, Washington. Morgan graduated from Walsh County Agricultural School in Park River. He married his wife Yvonne Grovum in 1957. They moved to Lakewood, Washington in 1961 with their 3 oldest children.
Morgan is survived by his wife Yvonne of 68 years, daughters Susan (Rick) Fields, Laurie (Bob) Boogerd, sons Daryl (Deena) Olson and David (Natalie) Olson, 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Gunda Olson, sisters Eleanor Malm and Luella Swanson, brothers Glenn and Dennis Olson.
Morgan worked in construction with his Dad and brother Dennis in North Dakota. In Washington he began working in the drafting department of a commercial cabinet company. He spent the remainder of his career as the supervisor of the department. His careful attention to detail was highly valued by the owner of the company he worked for. He enjoyed motorcycle riding, singing in church choir, square dancing, working in the yard and many years of camping trips with the entire family. He also enjoyed helping each of his kids build and finish their homes.
Dad was fondly referred to by the nickname “Mo” by his kids. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Morgan was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church. The graveside service for Morgan will be held at Woodbine Cemetery in Puyallup on March 13, 2025 at 11:30. All are welcome to attend. The memorial service with follow at 1:00 at Living Word Lutheran Church in Graham, Washington.
