Maxine Elsaas

June 10, 1935 — July 20, 2018

Maxine Georgia Elsaas (Barnard), 83, born in Portland, Oregon, passed away in Tacoma, Washington on July 20th, 2018. She attended school in Oregon and then began working at Boeing for five years doing blueprints. Maxine married John Elsaas on February 1st, 1974. She later spent her time as a homemaker and caregiver for her granddaughter, Michaela Alexander. She was an avid Avon fan and an Avon lady for over 40 years. Maxine is preceded in death by her parents, George Barnard and Vilet Spivey, her husband, John Elsaas, and brother, Carl Barnard. She is survived by her sisters, Deanna Cathcart (Don), Deborah Lister, and Julie Wirth; her children, Diane Alexander, Laura Marusa (Joe), Michael Alexander (Lisa), and Sonja Ostlund (Ford); grandchildren, Ron Brown, Jason Anderson, Michaela Alexander, Elizabeth Ostlund, and Bella Ostlund; as well as nine great-grandchildren, Tristan, Ron, Merideth, Karma, Breely, Jordyn, Jayden, Jamy, and Malia. Memorial Services to be held Friday, August 10th, 2018 beginning at 1:00 pm at Powers Funeral Home in Puyallup, Washington. The family asks for no donations please. Arrangements by Powers Funeral Home.
