Marjorie A Gallatin(Colvin) was the most driven, loving and caring person to have graced this world with her presence. She passed away on 4-4-2023 at 89 years old in Puyallup Washington.
Marge was born in South Dakota to Clarence and Mary Colvin on January 2nd, 1934. She loved it when people asked her birthdate, she could tell the 1 2 34. Marge was raised with her sister June and brother Dean. As a young woman Marge met a handsome Navy man by the name of Alfred Gallatin.
Alfred and Marge were married in July of 1952 and soon after moved to Washington. They settled in the town of Puyallup and started a family. They had three children Sherry Gallatin, Debra James, and Chris Gallatin. Marge and Alfred put their heart and soul into raising their children. They traveled the US for their children’s sports and various activities. Supporting them through their struggles and strife. Alfred and Marge tried to give their children everything they never had.
Marge became a beautician and owned two of her own businesses. Marge got up every morning like clockwork and made Alfred lunch and breakfast for the day. He would smell of aftershave, they would kiss goodbye at the front door. Marge spoke her mind and people loved her honesty and support. She loved her pets a little too much some family would say, they were her fur babies and brought her much joy in her final days. She loved to garden it brought her so much pleasure she would be in the yard for hours. She created and cared for a Koi pond in the back yard and she loved caring for her fish.
Marge was a grandmother to four grandchildren, Tracey Bertch, Randy James, Lindsay Gallatin, and Lane Gallatin. Let’s just be honest, they were the highlight of her life. Marge was also a great grandmother to Colby Bertch, Ethan Bertch, Alyvia Buras and Wayland Buras.
She was a hilarious friend, loving grandmother and monumental caregiver that will leave a hole in the hearts of the ones that knew and loved her.
Marjorie is survived by all of her amazing grandchildren, great grandchildren, and Debra James and Chris Gallatin.
