Marjorie Ann Ducatt
February 21st 1945 – November 30th 2020
Marjorie Ducatt passed away November 30th after a long battle with Dementia. She is survived by her loving son and best friend, Matthew Ducatt and daughter Natalie Ducatt. Margie adored her 4 grandkids, Anthony, Sierra, Zachary and Rylee and would do anything for them.
Margie was a graduate of Renton High School class of 1963. Soon after graduating she moved to the Silicon Valley California at the beginning of the technology boom.
By the mid 1970’s she worked hard to own her own electronics company stuffing and soldering printed circuit boards for larger companies in the area.
She took her skills to the disc drive industry as a Manufacturing Mgr. in the late 1970’s and was involved in the development and release of the first Winchester disc drives for computers.
She continue working in the disc drive industry through the 80’s and 90’s as well as some large contract manufacturing companies where she continue to work until 2001. She was loved and respected by her peers and employee’s as being a tough, fair and caring Manager.
Margie, looking for a change in her career, worked her final 15 years as a bus driver in the San Jose area. She drove special needs kids, who she absolutely loved, back and forth to school.
Margie retired at 65 and did what she had been wanting to do for decades, get a dog. She adopted a Dachshund which she named Precious. She was loving her life of retirement until 2015 when she suffered a small stoke that pushed her into dementia.
Soon after diagnosis Matthew moved his mother back to Washington where he could oversee her care and health needs. We were closer than ever before, I know she knew I loved her and I know she loved me. Her last 2+ years were spent at Woodland Adult Family Home in University Place where her care giver Venus Sharpe adopted her into her family and took incredible care of her. She loved Venus and received much better care than any memory care facility provided.
She will be missed tremendously.
