MARGARET MARY DAORO

(March 30, 1929 – October 1, 2022)

Margaret Daoro died peacefully in her home on October 1, 2022 at 93 succumbing to cancer. She was born in Portland, Oregon on March 30, 1929 to Andrew and Jenny Guglielmino, of Genoa, Italy and Portland, OR.

Margaret graduated from St Mary’s Academy in Portland, OR and attended the University of Portland, studying nursing for a year. Following her studies, Margaret married the love of her life, Reno Daoro on February 5, 1949.

Margaret is survived by four children, Phyllis (Bruce) Thomson, Julie (Ed, deceased) Boitano, Paul Daoro, and Deana (Michael) Hall. Grandchildren, Stacey Teter, Jeff (Becky) Thomson, Andrea (Thomas) Donovan, Tony (Megan) Boitano, Chris (Megan) Boitano, Ryan (Amber) Daoro, Jared Daoro, Timmy (Rachel) Stowell, Terin (Parker) Vance and Melanie Hall.  Margaret was also blessed with 11 great grandchildren and another soon expected.

Living most of her life in the Puyallup valley, she always kept a tidy garden with seasonal fruits and vegetables. Above all, Margaret cherished time with family and friends; loved to knit, and always had a supply of homemade cookies. Known for a keen whit and sharp sense of humor, she lit a room with an honest and endearing presence.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Guglielmino (brother) and Reno Daoro (husband). Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 11 AM with a rosary starting at 10:30 AM at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Fife.
