Luis Joseph Boitano

July 29, 1932 — January 14, 2019

Luis Joseph Boitano Born July 29, 1932 in Tacoma Washington to Angelo and Victoria, passed away on January 14, 2019 in Palm Springs, California. Luis graduated from Fife High School, attended Washington State University and graduated from the College of Pharmacy. He served in the Korean War and after leaving the Army went to work for Nicholson's Pharmacy in Sumner. He later opened the Edgewood Pharmacy where he ran a successful business for 28 years. He was an accomplished hunter and proudly displayed his many animal trophy mounts on the pharmacy wall. Being a cowboy at heart, Louis enjoyed owning horses, admiring western memorabilia, and wearing fancy cowboy boots. Luis never met a stranger; he had the gift of gab and could strike up a conversation with anyone. As a first generation Italian, he loved good food and always looked forward to family gatherings. In retirement, Palm Springs became a regular destination. He enjoyed welcoming friends and family down to visit. He remained a lifelong Seahawk and Cougar fan and rarely missed a game regardless of where he was. Luis is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Lou Burke; three children, Tom Boitano, Angela Loeks (Lance), and Cara Beck (Steve); seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren and two sisters, Victorine Ennis and Linda Boitano. A memorial mass is scheduled for Saturday January 26, 2019, 1:00 PM at All Saints Catholic Church in Puyallup with a reception to follow at the church hall. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Louis' life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Theresa Catholic Church 2900 Ramon Rd, Palm Springs CA 92264 or St. Francis House 322 7th St SE, Puyallup WA 98372.
