It is with profound sadness, we announce the passing of our mother, Louise Rogers, on July 5, 2021, at the age of 94 years old. Louise was born in Gaddy, North Carolina, one of 14 brothers and sisters. Louise was proceeded in death in 2003, by the love of her life, John T. Rogers, who was an engineer for NASA and the Boeing Co. Louise’s pride and joy were her two children Carol Ann Overland (Larry Overland) and Dale E. Rogers (Marci Rogers). Both were employed in the aviation industry, Carol as a flight attendant and Dale as a pilot. Louise has two grandchildren, Sarah Eklund residing in Edinburgh Scotland, and Lindsay Macri residing in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Louise was an excellent cook, and her meals reflected her southern heritage. Gardening was great joy for Louise, who had a “green thumb” in everything she touched. She also loved her vegetable garden and enjoyed the bounty of the harvest and sharing it with others.
Louise was very active and had a zest for all things in life. She was the most loving and generous mother possible, and we were truly blessed to have her in our lives. She will be greatly missed.
Private graveside services will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
