Lois Hovey, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 26, 2024. Born on February 17, 1942, in Tacoma, Washington, she lived her life with a twinkle in her eye and a contagious spirit that brought joy to all who knew her.
Lois made an invaluable impact on everyone including her community, patients at Good Samaritan Hospital, students at Bryant Elementary School and her multigenerational family. Lois was known for her warm and nurturing kindness and vibrant personality. She had a remarkable ability to brighten any room, and her adventurous travel spirit led her to explore the country with her husband. Whether she was hosting family gatherings, keeping up with her grandchildren’s events or on the golf course winning one of the club championships, Lois approached life with enthusiasm and passion.
She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Ron Hovey; children, Holly Hovey and Todd Hovey; and her cherished grandchildren, Zachary and Zoe Hennings. Each of them carries a piece of her joyful legacy in their hearts.
As we remember Lois, we celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the lives of all who had the opportunity to know her. The family requests that any remembrance be made to Susan G. Komen Foundation in her memory.
