Lelia Mickle
July 2, 1935-February 8, 2025 

Lelia was born in Des Moines, IA. Her parents, Harold and Audrey Davidson, loved and cared for her, her sister Linda, and her brother Eugene, primarily in Boone. In 1954, she married Donald Mickle. Their four children are David, Anita, Valerie, and John. Grandchildren include Christopher, Lela, Anthony, Cody, Garrett, Ozzie, and Erick. Great grandchildren are Nehemiah, Semual, and Mordecai. Lelia loved them all dearly, as they, in turn, loved her.

After graduating from High School in Boone, Lelia took a train to Chicago to work in an accounting office. Prior to that, she had dated Donald her senior year in H.S. While visiting home over the holidays, he proposed, and they soon married. Having decided to move to Kansas City, KS, the two ended up raising their family there. Lelia worked hard as a grocery checker for 35 years. She became a dedicated Girl Scout leader, and was involved in many of her children's extracurricular activities.

Lelia loved nature walks, playing cards with family and friends, Mexican train, sweets, visiting new places, and most of all, reading. She could read fast and comprehend amazingly, clear up till the end. Her son-in-law would like to add that she was a dynamic Scrabble player!

We were all lucky to have her around for 89 years, as her positivity and love for all she knew was a treasure. Lelia is survived by all the aforementioned, along with her son in law, Phillip, Clint and daughter in law, Kimberly, excepting her late husband, Donald.

We miss her terribly!

Family and friends are welcome to attend her funeral service on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at 11:00am at Tahoma National Cemetery at 18600 240th, Kent, WA 98042.  Please arrive 15 min. early. There will be a reception following, at Powers Funeral Home in Puyallup, WA at 1:00pm.
