Laura May Grobey Bunge was born November 15, 1929 to Arthur & Gladys Grobey in Tacoma, WA. She grew up on a 10 acre farm in Edgewood, WA that her family purchased in 1937. She completed grade school at Edgemont and then continued her education at Fife High School. Laura enjoyed reading, acting, and singing throughout her life. She was a loyal friend and enjoyed swimming in Surprise Lake and dancing with her friends at the HiDive hall. After she graduated from Fife in 1948, she completed the first year of nurse’s training and worked at Manning’s Cafeteria. Laura married her high school sweetheart, Harold Charles Bunge, in 1950. Together they had three sons: Keith, Alan, and Gary that they raised in the Fife/Milton area. Their business, Bunge Appliance & Fuel, was the center of their lives until they retired. She dedicated much of her time to her church and volunteering. Many benefitted from her baking, organizing, driving, or visiting if you were in need or hosting a fundraising event. Harold passed away in July 2006. Laura May passed away March 23, 2023.
She leaves behind her three sons, her daughter-in-law Joan (married to Alan), granddaughter Megan & her husband Josh Caldwell, grandson Brian Bunge, and great grandson, Kellan Caldwell. Laura was a dear friend to many, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Please join her family at her service at Mission Woods Church 2003 Taylor St, Milton, WA 98354.
