Jeffrey Scott Packer

June 15, 1965 — February 4, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jeff Packer, on February 4, 2024, at the young age of 58.  Jeff was born in Chicago, IL on June 15, 1965, and grew up in California, Alaska, and finally Puyallup, WA, where he settled in 1979.

Right after graduating from Rogers High School in 1983, Jeff met his wife, Ann, and then attended Green River CC and Washington State University.  Jeff and Ann tied the knot on August 6, 1988, and were married for 35 years. In that time, they had two beautiful children, Hannah Packer (27) and Robert Packer (25), traveled, and built multiple businesses. Jeff was the proud owner/operator of the Tinder Box in Tacoma, a traditional cigar, pipe, and tobacco retail business that he ran for 27 years. In addition to his wife and children, Jeff leaves behind his mother, Judy Mitchell, father, Bob Packer, and a multitude of friends and family that will love and miss him dearly. Jeff always had a beautiful smile, wonderful laugh, and a keen sense of humor like none other, which drew people to him and made them love him. We will remember and miss him with all our hearts for the rest of time.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 9th, 2024, at IAFF Station House 726, in downtown Puyallup, at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Jeff’s name to a Cancer or ALS foundation of your choice.
