Howard L. Schick Beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, retired letter carrier, friend, United States Marine Howard L. Schick was known by many names; Dad, "Grandpa", "great grandpa", "Grandpa Grandpa", "Papa Howie", "Howie", "Chick", "First Sargent" are just a few. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean, brother Conrad and sisters Pat and Judy. A devout Catholic and usher, he may be remembered best for his gentle, caring nature he shared with all of those who crossed his path. He had a rare ability to genuinely appreciate everyone he met and was always ready to help anyone who was in need. Born in Illinois and raised in Chicago, Dad was a diehard fan of the Cubs and the Bears and did not hesitate to share his excite-ment with anyone within earshot while the games were on. His passions of fishing, bowling, golfing, attempting to fix anything which was broken, city politics and sharing family history was equaled only by his love of family and offering Starbursts to all. Howard is survived by his son Michael (Karen), daughters Doris and Kathy, 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. While Dad will be missed tremendously by many, we will all con-tinue "doing the best we can with we have", "one step at a time". Our family would like to thankfully acknowledge the care and compassion shown to Dad by all the doctors, nurses and staff at Madigan Army Medical Center and Franciscan Hospice. Rosary will be conducted at 10:45 am followed by the Catholic Funeral Mass at 11:30am on Saturday, June 23 at All Saints Catholic Church, 503 3rd Street SW, Puyallup.
