FRANK POLESKIE
1924 - 2020
The family of Frank Poleskie, a long time resident of Fife, are sad to announce his passing on
April 22, 2020 at the age of 95.
Born in Ravensdale, Washington, June 26,1924 to Anton and Alice Poleski.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 73 years, Aldine.
He will be lovingly remembered by his children: daughter Sharon (Morley) Morgan, son Randy (Jill)
Poleskie.
Grandchildren: Janelle (Brad) Emery, Greg (Jillian Watson) Morgan, Kevin Poleskie, Amy (John) Pepper and six great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents and brother, Alvin.
He was a wonderful provider and dearly loved his family. Frank especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, musical performances and celebrating their accomplishments.
Frank was a proud veteran of WWII, serving in New Caledonia and Saipan. He was an active member in the Fife/Milton VFW #11401 serving for a time as Commander. Frank spent many hours working on the Fife/Milton VFW Memorial for which he took great pride. He could always be counted on for selling poppies for the VFW.
His career spanned over 40 years in the grocery business, starting at the Andres store in Fife.
Frank became manager of the Piggly Wiggly in Fife, and later at the South Hill location in Puyallup until his retirement. His work ethic made him a popular person to work with and he formed many close friends in the industry.
Frank took great pride in his community and served for a time on the Fife Council. He was a member of the Fife Lions Club and the Elks.
His yard was a source of great pleasure and he received numerous compliments and it was recognized as an award winning yard.
He was a sports enthusiast and loved all Seattle teams, especially the Seattle Mariners. He often said he found it easier to listen to the games on the radio rather than watching them on TV - as it was far to nerve-racking to watch.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the caregivers of Cottage A, at The Cottages at Edgewood, for the care and support they provided to our dad over the past two years.
There will be a private family service at a later date at the Tahoma National Cemetery per his wishes as a veteran.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations can be made to the Fife/Milton VFW #11401 or the charity of your choice.
