Floybelle Casteel McDonald was born July 2,1933 in Webbers Falls Oklahoma. She passed away in her sleep the night of Sunday / Monday April 24th at her home in Puyallup, Washington.
Floy had an unending quest for learning. Her body gave out before her spirit. She loved to read, sometimes as many as two or three books per week. She had a passion for travel and adventure. She has visited all seven continents most of the Canadian provinces, every u.s. state, and about fifty countries. She loved children, first raising her own and then when they were grown she started a daycare and raised many more kids, many of them she remained in contact with as they married and started families of they own.
Floy had a love for the Lord Jesus Christ. Her christian beliefs affected every aspect of her life. Everyone who knew her knew this about her. She always tried to do the right thing even when it sometimes wasnʼt the easy thing.
A life long resident of Puyallup it sometimes seemed that she knew everyone or at least someone that knew that person. Often she would go into a restaurant and before she left she would see several people she knew and would of course have to stop and talk with each of them.
Floy is survived by four of her children, Douglas McDonald, Shannon McDonald, Jenifer Hicks, and Cindy McDonald. Three grand children, Derek McDonald (wife Michelle), Kelvin McDonald (wife Ada), and Gabriela McDonald and one very special great grand daughter Ania. She has a large family with many nieces and nephews, cousins, and brothers and sisters in-law.
Floy is predeceased by the love of her life, husband, Donald McDonald, Her son Mitchel McDonald, her sister Cathy (Cady) Slead and her parents , father Henry Clayton Casteel and mother Hattie (Norris) Casteel.
The family would like to thank Anita, Michelle and Gabriela for all of the help they generously gave our mother towards the end of her life.
