In Loving Memory of
Ethel Mae ‘Ette’ Davidson
Ethel Mae Davidson, 102, of Puyallup, Washington, was born on February 2, 1922. She died on August 22, 2024 in Tacoma, Washington. Ethel passed away surrounded by loved ones in the home of her granddaughter, Eden Kramer. Eden and her family lovingly cared for Ethel for the last 10 years.
Ethel was married to Robert A. ‘Bob’ Davidson for 67 years before his death on June 7, 2008. They owned many restaurants in Tacoma, including the Spout ‘n’ Toad, the Friendly Duck, and the Silver Unicorn. Ethel often received a single carnation each week from Bob.
She was a member of St. Rita’s Catholic Church and All Saints Catholic Church for many years. Ethel was a chaplain, a nurse, and a homemaker. She was a true artist who dabbled in writing and painting. She even earned her pilot’s license but never flew a plane. Ethel loved to travel with Bob, and some of her favorite countries to visit include Russia and France. She’ll be remembered for her naughty sense of humor, candy jars, and martinis.
Ethel is survived by her three sons: Robert M. (LeeAnn) Davidson, William (Beth) Davidson, and Douglas (Kathy) Davidson.
Her grandchildren called her “Grandma D” and include Eden (John) Kramer, Teresa (Paul) Josten, Kim Knight, Monica (Carl) Ott, William (Rhonda) Davidson, Camille (David) Bauman, Kara Davidson, Amy Davidson, Robert (Melissa) Davidson, and Jeff Rundlett.
Ethel enjoyed visiting with her great grandchildren, including Robert’s grandchildren Jonathan Josten, Michael Josten, Mariah Josten, Alexander Ott, Anneli Davidson, and William Ott; William’s grandchildren JJ Rundlett, Zack Kelley, Brenden Kramer, Keeley Ostlind, Ryann Davidson, Baylor Davidson, Amaya Davidson, and Tyler Kramer; and Douglas’s grandchildren Isabella Davis, Hunter Shelton, Alainnah Knight, Austin Drapeau, Lilyann Drapeau, and Carmen Carter. Great grandchildren welcomed into the family include Mckenzie Short, Chloe Short, Samantha Short, and London Short.
Her great great grandchildren include Isla Kramer, Eeliana Curaming, Killian Curaming, Oliver Kramer, Oliver Ostlind, and Cameron Davis. Ethel enjoyed spending time with her much-beloved nieces and nephews, her honorary brother Jim Cowan, and special family friend Thomas Herting.
