Esther Susanna Smith, 91, went to be with our Lord and Savior on June 17, 2024, in Puyallup, WA. Esther was born on September11, 1932 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin Esther was a devout Catholic and a part of a large family of 8 children living in Kalamazoo Michigan prior to moving with her sister to Washington state, where she met the love of her life: having 3 children 2 girls and 1 boy. Esther worked different jobs alongside her husband doing janitorial work delivering newspapers including The Harold and The News Tribune. Later, in life Esther would spend her days being a loving caring wife and caring for neighbor children along with grandchildren. Esther loved visiting Ocean Shores collecting sand dollars, visiting casinos and most of all spending time with her large family. She lived her life to the fullest doing anything new and adventurous to even getting her first tattoo at 81. Esther will be dearly missed by her surviving family members: daughter Pearl (Harry), daughter Susanna, 1 brother James (Dorie), 1 sister Dorothy, 5 grandsons, 4 granddaughters, 5 great grandsons, 8 great granddaughters, 4 great great grandsons, 4 great great granddaughters, many nieces, nephews and an extensive list of many who she loved as her own. Esther was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 son, 1 son-in-law, 1 granddaughter, 1 brother and 4 sisters. Esthers family will be planning a family/friend gathering to share stories and memories of her long happy and loving life at a date to be determined. She will be laid to rest alongside her husband at The Tahoma National Cemetery in Covington, WA. Esthers family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers during her end of life. While also thanking everyone who was able to visit her as we know she loved having her family and friends around her always.
