Douglas Schiesz

Douglas Robert Schiesz, loving father, son and brother, passed away on December 17th in Puyallup, Washington at the age of 65. Doug was born on April 23, 1953 in Tacoma, Washington to Robert and Patricia (Hoit) Schiesz. Doug attended Tacoma Public Schools during his early years and graduated from Rogers High School in Puyallup in 1971. After high school he served in the coast guard, attended classes at Green River Community College, worked as a school bus driver and pressman, and had three children Aimee, Sarah and Bobby. Doug was an avid Seahawks and Mariners fan. He loved camping at the beach and Volkswagen vehicles. Doug owned several Volkswagens and built his own Volkswagen trike. He also loved music, especially classic rock and smooth jazz. He was known for his caring, quiet and gentle nature. Doug is preceded in death by his father Robert Schiesz and brother David Schiesz. He is survived by his mother Patricia Schiesz, sister Kathy Schiesz, brother Tom Schiesz, daughters Aimee Wildstone and Sarah Massey and son Robert Schiesz. A service will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, January 4th, 2019 at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th Street Kent, WA 98402. Reception will follow immediately after at 25304 176th Ave SE Covington, WA 98042. Arrangements by Powers Funeral Home.
