Dianne Simmons

Dianne R. Simmons (Coffman), 82, passed away Friday, January 29, 2021 with family at her side..Dianne was born February 7, 1938 in Sumner Wa. to Edgar L. and Gertrude T. Coffman. Dianne grew up in Milton where she graduated from Fife High School in 1956. After graduation Dianne went into the Marine Corps in 1956 where she served 4 years and received an honorable discharge. She became a legal assistant until her retirement. She loved gardening and belonged to the Puyallup Valley Fuchsia Society. For many years she was on the Park Board in Milton, WA, and also volunteered at the Tacoma Humane Society where she loved to foster kittens. Dianne was preceded in death by her son, Scott Simmons, sisters Morelle Door and Jackie Mars. She is survived by her daughters, April (Brian) Petro and Dorthea Simmons of Tacoma. Dianne has 4 grandchildren whom she adored, Cassandra (Jay) Paxton of Wenatchee, WA, Nicole Cook of Gig Harbor, Sydney Petro of Tempe AZ, and Kylie Crim; sisters Marjorie Brubaker, Robin Wilkson, and Jerilyn Spindler all from Milton. A private service will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery for veterans in Covington.
