Cynthia (Cindy) Roberta Davis Andy was born on October 11th 1930, to Bertha Petoie Davis Bobb and Marion Davis at the family home on the Chehalis Reservation. She passed away on July 30th, 2019 at Tacoma General Hospital in Tacoma, Washington. She attended school in Oakville and Rochester. Cindy was a devote member of the 1910 Indian Shaker Church, she joined the 1910 Indian Shaker Religion at the Oakville Shaker Church. Cindy always had love for the outdoors, she was either fishing, clam digging or gathering basket materials. She loved baseball, in her younger years she loved to play and in her older years she enjoyed watching her favorite baseball team, the Seattle Mariners. Cindy was a master basket weaver, she was one of the founding members of the Northwest Native American Basketweavers Association, which she was on the board of directors and one of two life time members. Cindy worked in Indian Education, she started as a liaison and worked her way up to the coordinator for Indian Education for the Puyallup School District, where she worked for 28 years. She received numerous awards such as education and elder of the year, for the Washington State Indian Education Association. She also was honored by Brigham Young University as educator of the year. Cindy sat on many boards in her life time, such as the Washington State Indian Education Association as chair and vice chair, the Tacoma affirmative action committee, Tacoma Indian Education parent committee, as well as numerous committees within the Chehalis tribe, where she was enrolled Cindy was married to William F. Andy Senior, they were married until his death on December 31st, 2003. Together they raised their daughter Lydia. Cindy survived by her wonderful daughter Lydia Parrott, son Edward Andy, caring son in law Randy Parrott, her granddaughter and namesake Cynthia Parrott, her nephews Ray Bobb, Maynard Jones, and Wayne Barr, niece Annie Jones, numerous other nieces and nephews, also numerous friends and the family pets. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Bill Andy Senior, her parents, her beloved sister Katherine Barr, numerous brothers and sisters, son Dennis Andy, granddaughter Minnie Andy, niece Jo Aldrich and nephew Jimmy Jones.
