Colleen “Connie” Diane Zimbelman, 64, passed away on February 15th, 2022 in her hometown of Puyallup, WA from undetected heart failure. Even though a failing heart took her away from this world, the love she poured out on her family and friends will be felt forever.
Connie was born March 12th, 1957 in Tacoma, WA to James and Marion Burrows and was raised in Puyallup, WA all of her childhood until Graduating Puyallup High School in 1975.
In her early adulthood, Connie met the love of her life Clyde, and they quickly married and began their family. Connie devoted much of her life to homemaking and care giving for her family. Connie loved tradition. She spent many holidays insuring simple traditions were met, even if it was making sure there were whole black olives on the table alongside the turkey at Thanksgiving or preparing her famous potato salad for a 4th of July celebration. Birthdays were especially important to her, and she deeply enjoyed showering her loved ones with a “big” gift and would talk about it for weeks leading up to their Birthday. It was always so special to be a witness to her giving the gift to the recipient, her excitement lighting her up and a giant smile following right behind. Christmas was her absolute favorite time of year; she would decorate her home with all the items her children and grandchildren had made her over the years. She took delight in those handmade treasures, to her they were priceless.
Over the last 15 years, Connie was blessed with Grandchildren and her heart grew beyond measure loving all 5 of them like they were her own. She was also very close to each one of her 3 adult Children, speaking to each of them daily (often multiple times a day) sharing the simplest happenings in their lives. For hobbies, she loved to read books, watch old sitcom reruns, play “candy crush”, listen to music, and talk on the phone to her closest relatives and dearest friends.
Connie is survived by her husband of 42 years, Clyde. Her 3 children; Corina (Branden) Fiedler, Craig Zimbelman and Crystal (Shawn) Dube. She additionally leaves behind her 5 grandchildren that were her pride and joy; Bryson, Jace, Isla, Wyatt and Esme’.
Connie will be most remembered for her approach to life “Have faith, because it ALWAYS works out” and her deep, unconditional love for her family and friends. She will be greatly missed, but forever in our hearts.
