Cecelia Lenzi age 85, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side. She was born in Spokane WA, to Marie Keller and Henry Schafer. Her father passed away when she was 6 months old, and her mother then married Clarence England.
Her family moved to the Tacoma area where she lived until the 7th grade after which she moved back to Spokane area to live with her sister Anne, her husband Gene and her nephew and niece Larry and Judy. She graduated from West Valley High School in 1955 then went on to enlist in the Marines where she was stationed at Parris Island. Upon her discharge she returned to the Tacoma area where she lived the rest of her life.
She married Arnold Lenzi in 1961 and raised 4 children. She enjoyed traveling, (especially Hawaii), gardening, puzzles, reading, being warm, watching cheesy romance movies, musicals, and being surrounded by her family.
Cecelia is preceded in death by her parents and stepfather, her beloved husband Arnold, her sister Anne Buchanan Burns and her brother Frank Schafer.
She is survived by her brother Henry “Bud” Schafer, her children: Cathy (Steven) Holmes, Jane (Adam)Dopps, John (Amie) Lenzi and Emily Lenzi. Her Grandchildren: Paige (Christopher) Clark, Stevie Holmes, Weston (Katie) Holmes, Vinny Lenzi and Abbie Lenzi. And her Greatâ€Grandchildren: Ruby Clark, Eve Clark, Hazel Holmes, and Greyson Clark.
A memorial service will be held at St. John of the Woods, 9903 – 24 th Ave E Tacoma, WA 98445, on Friday July 22, 2022, at 11am. A celebration of life to follow in the church hall. All are encouraged to dress in bright or tropical clothing. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor her may donate in her name to St. Francis House, P.O. Box 156, Puyallup, WA 98371,
