Bruce Curtis Norton passed away July 2, 2022, from a long battle with cancer at the age of 81 in Puyallup, Washington. He was born the youngest of 6 children in Tuolumne, California to Beulah and Joseph T Norton Sr. He grew up in the area and graduated in 1958 from Oakdale High School.
He was a Stanislaus Deputy Sheriff for 8 years before moving to Washington and began a career with the Tacoma Police Department, retiring in November 1999 as a Police Detective. After retirement he became a driving instructor for the 911 Driving School for several years. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing, and going to casino.
Proceeded in death were his parents, siblings, and a son Richard. He is survived by son David and numerous nieces and nephews. Bruce was a resident of Better Place Adult Family Home at time of his passing, and the family would like to thank them for their loving care and friendship.
Celebration of Life services will be July 22nd at 1pm at Powers Funeral Home in Puyallup. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Law Enforcement Youth Camp thru the Tacoma Police Department, or to your favorite charity.
