Amy (Burrows) Alexeev, age 45, passed away Feb. 1, 2022, after a heroic battle with breast cancer. Amy grew up in Puyallup, Washington, and met the love of her life, Alex Alexeev, when she was in high school. They married in 2001 and have three amazing children together: A.J., 14, Sophie, 12, and Max, 10.
Amy devoted her life not only to her family, but also to her church where she volunteered in many capacities. She was an inspiration and role model for what it means to be a true Catholic woman of faith. Her faith and convictions only grew with every obstacle she faced in life, and she never lost her sense of humor. She was pure joy to be around. Always the perpetual hostess, she went out of her way to make every visitor feel comfortable and welcome, always focusing on others rather than any struggle she may have been facing.
Amy is survived by her husband Alex, sons A.J. and Max, daughter Sophie, father Chris Burrows, mother Cynthia Edmon (William), sister Kate Frerichs (Kasey), nephew Benny, mother-in-law Anna Murphy (Bruce) and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
The funeral requiem mass will take place on Friday, Feb. 11 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church in Tacoma. Following the mass, a burial service will take place at Calvary Cemetery. We will also have a viewing and Rosary on Thursday, Feb. 10 from 1-4 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home in Puyallup.
In lieu of flowers, the Alexeev family would prefer a donation to St. Joseph’s Church in Amy’s honor.
